Flexibility for our students who need a tailored approach

What is FLO?

FLO (Flexible Learning Options) assists schools to re-engage young people aged 13-21 back into mainstream learning.

We identify and determine the individual learning and well-being needs of students and refer them into one of three FLO programs below.

FLO - In school support

  • Students in Years 8-12 who have the capacity to succeed in school based and delivered pathways.
  • Students access 3 full subjects (English/Math and elective).
  • Students may be on a negotiated, part-time timetable and may also be engaged in certificate courses, short courses, programs, extra study lines, work experience or work.
  • Each student has an allocated Case Manager and additional support from the FLO teacher as per their individual plan.

Community Learning Centre - CLC:

Students in years 10-12 seeking a face to face off-site learning program can enrol at the CLC (Community Learning Centre at Tea Tree Gully TAFE).

CLC enrolment information

FLO - N:

Students in Years 8-12 with a history of significant barriers with face to face learning and school attendance can access an off site personalised case management program.

The FLO Referral Process

Referral of students to FLO and also to The Community Learning Centre (CLC) is undertaken by the Sub-school teams at the beginning of Term 3.

Students who are significantly at risk are identified from the range of school data, specifically attendance and engagement. Referrals are completed by Week 7 of Term 3 and parents/caregivers are then invited to attend our FLO information evening.

If you have any enquiries, please contact our FLO program leader via email or by phone on (08) 82826400.

Acknowledgement of Country

Golden Grove High School acknowledges the Kaurna people who are the traditional owners of the land we learn on. We pay our respects to their spiritual relationship with Country and acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to those living today.

We pay our respects to Kaurna Elders, past, present and emerging and we acknowledge the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting from areas around Australia.
